Salary: £24,000 - £28,000

Role Description

A highly regarded independent accountancy practice in Lowestoft is looking to recruit a Trainee Accounts Assistant to join its friendly and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the early stages of their accountancy career to gain hands-on experience across accounts, tax and bookkeeping work, whilst studying towards a professional qualification.

Working alongside experienced Seniors and Managers, you’ll gain exposure to a varied client portfolio and receive ongoing training and support as you continue your professional development within a relaxed and collaborative practice environment.

What you’ll do

• Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts for a range of clients
• Assist with fieldwork and testing on audit assignments
• Support the team with personal and corporate tax compliance work
• Carry out bookkeeping and VAT return preparation
• Work closely with Seniors and Managers on client assignments
• Build relationships with clients and respond to day-to-day queries
• Gain exposure across a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and charities

What you’ll need

• AAT qualified or currently studying AAT / ACA / ACCA
• Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice
• Some exposure to accounts preparation or bookkeeping work
• Strong communication skills and a positive, eager-to-learn attitude
