This is a 6 month day rate opportunity for a Head of Finance for a not for profit organisation in North Yorkshire.

As Head of Finance, you will provide both strategic and operational leadership across the finance function, ensuring strong financial management, governance, and continuous improvement as the organisation grows and transforms.

• Provide expert financial leadership, advice, planning, and reporting across the organisation
• Lead the development and delivery of financial strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory and governance standards
• Oversee financial performance management and reporting to Leadership
• Lead the production of quarterly budget reports and treasury management updates
• Manage the 2025/26 year-end accounts process and audit 
• Lead the development of the 2026/27 budgeting cycle
• Support the implementation of a new financial management system
• Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, processes, and reporting

• Fully qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience
• Proven track record in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within the public sector or a similarly complex organisation
• Strong technical accounting expertise, including year-end accounts and audit management 
• Experience leading budgeting processes, financial planning, and strategy 
• Experience of financial systems change / transformation (Oracle experience desirable)
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
