Commercial Assistant (CAD / Technical Drawings)

Location: wellingborough
Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00 (Office-Based)
Salary: up to 35k

The Opportunity

We are looking for a detail-driven Commercial Assistant with experience interpreting CAD drawings to support our Estimating and Quantity Surveying teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in construction, engineering, or technical administration, who is comfortable working with drawings and supporting commercial projects from enquiry through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and manage new customer enquiries, extracting key project details
• Read and interpret CAD drawings to support estimating and pricing activities
• Assist with take-offs, measurements, and project specifications
• Obtain and manage supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Raise and support preparation of customer quotes
• Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and clients to gather required information
• Support applications for payment and track documentation
• Maintain accurate data and commercial records across projects

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a commercial, estimating, or technical support role
• Ability to read and understand CAD drawings (essential)
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Confident communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
