Welder

Salary: £30,000–£35,000

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday–Friday

Location: On-site in Solihull

A manufacturing business based in Solihull is looking for an experienced Welder to join its on-site production team. The company specialises in designing and producing precision-engineered stainless-steel equipment for healthcare, pharmaceutical, and life-science environments. Its products include clinical sinks, decontamination systems, bespoke fabrications, and specialist workflow solutions — all built to exceptionally high standards.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components using a range of welding techniques to ensure every product meets strict quality, safety, and performance requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
• Performing MIG, TIG, and arc welding
• Preparing materials through cutting, grinding, and cleaning
• Inspecting welds to ensure they meet quality standards
• Repairing and maintaining metal structures and equipment
• Operating welding tools and machinery safely
• Working closely with engineers and production teams
• Maintaining accurate records of completed work

About You

• Proven experience as a welder or similar role
• Welding certification (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent) preferred but not essential
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and precision
• Good understanding of safety standards
• Able to work independently and as part of a team

Key skills: MIG, TIG, and arc welding proficiency, problem-solving, manual dexterity, time management, and clear communication.

Working Environment

• Workshop/manufacturing setting
• Exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment
• May involve standing for long periods and lifting materials
